Google has recently rolled out the latest version of Android, 7.0 Nougat.\u00a0 Presently, it\u2019s available for the newer nexus phones like the Nexus 6, 6P, 5X, Pixel C or Nexus 9 tablet. It\u2019s certainly a very good update, but like always it\u2019s initially available for Nexus phones only, but we hope that in future the update will be available for other devices as well.<\/p>\n
This version has come a long way, I\u2019ve been trying out the various beta versions since early this year, and I\u2019ve noticed that majority of the bugs have been fixed and this is good news from the users.\u00a0Well, we can\u2019t really say that this version is completely different from the last one i.e. Marshmallow, but there are certain new features that have been introduced like improved multitasking, a few tweaks, notifications UI, faster switching and more security, too.<\/p>\n
But, Nougat is seriously of no use to majority of the Android users because of the fact that it\u2019s not going to be available for over 90% of the phones until a few months or maybe an year or we don\u2019t know. The real beneficiaries are the Nexus users for whom this update is presently available.<\/p>\n

Undoubtedly, the most evident feature enhancement in this latest version is its improved and tweaked UI, which can be apparently be seen in its notification menu.<\/p>\n
Now, when you swipe down from the top of the screen, you now get instant control toggles like always but they seem to be more organized, eye catchy, improved and much quicker.<\/p>\n

Android has always been great at handling multitasking, but its now even better. There is this Quick Switch that enables you to instantly switch to your last app by simply double tapping the Recent button.<\/p>\n
In addition to this, Google has introduced a multi-window feature in this recent Android version. It\u2019s quiet simple to use, you can tap on the Recent button from within an app and you\u2019ll be able to select a second app to open alongside it, in a split-screen view. This feature is simply WOW! And will be best utilized on large-screen devices which are pretty much the trend with especially Android right now. This feature will surely add more productivity and you will be able to surf the web while simultaneously messaging people.<\/p>\n
This feature is more aimed at Android TV users than mobile device or tablet users. Nougat gives the ability to watch video in a pinned window in a small corner of the screen while another activity runs in the background. Sounds interesting!<\/p>\n

Here are the two most notable inclusions in Nougat.\u00a0 These are two standalone apps Allo and Duo.<\/p>\n
Allo is Google\u2019s new messaging app using which you\u2019ll be able to perform web searches and make bookings from within conversations.<\/p>\n
Duo, the other app is Google\u2019s new video calling application. The purpose of the app is to make easy video calling. You may call it Google\u2019s Face time. This feature it optimized for usage on limited\/lower bandwidth connections which is yet again very considerate from Google.<\/p>\n

Google has introduced seamless updating of the apps. This feature allows two images to be run in parallel, allowing you to update an app in the background while you are actually using it.
